Typological Passion windows were way of encouraging the exegetical mindset, drawing out the supposed parallels between the Old and New testaments.
Here, the Passion narrative (which in this instance seems particularly geared towards Matthew's version) is spread over three blocks of panels,
separated by groups of Old Testament scenes which supposedly prefigure or otherwise comment upon those events.
