The non-narrative bottom register consists of four panels showing a farmers ploughing with oxen and with horses (two cartoons are repeated). The main cycle, depicting the early parts of the Book of Genesis, starts with the leftmost panel of the second row - the 20 scenes read from left to right, then bottom to top. The choice of episodes is unusual, skimming over section from Creation to Expulsion in just six scenes, but then devoting 14 scenes to the lives of Adam and Eve and their offspring. The shooting of Cain by his descendent Lamech occurs in several Genesis cycles - but the building of the first city (named Enoch after the son of Cain - Gen 4:17) is very rare indeed.
