In the upper roundel (panel 06), Vincent is being tortured on an iron griddle over a fire. He is held down by two men with pitch-forks, while a third man encourages the fire with bellows. The Emperor Dacian oversees operations from the left of the panel. The two lateral panels, 04 and 05, form a single scene; Vincent is stripped and tied to a wooden bench before being scourged again by two torturers, overseen by Dacian from his throne in the right-hand panel. The final panel in this group is the lower roundel (panel 03), which shows Vincent in his prison cell, where he is visited by a pair of angels, who tell him he will soon attain martyrdom.
