Panel 05 - The pilgrim leaving Jerusalem

<< previous scene | next scene >>

Description:

The titulus reads "PEREGRINUS" - which can mean pilgrim or foreigner. The vulgate simply states that "a certain man (homo quidam) went down from Jerusalem to Jericho" (Luke 10:30). Medieval interpretations usually treat him as a pilgrim.
