Act 1) Conversion:

17 - The sailors kidnap Eustace's wife, casting him overboard
20 - Before Eustace can reach land, a lion snatches away his eldest son
21 - Shepherds rescue Eustace's younger son from the jaws of a wolf

Act 3) The family is reunited:
18 - Years later, the Emperor Trajan sends emissaries to find Eustace
19 - The Emperor's emissaries meet Eustace but don't recognise him
16 - The emissaries realise that their host is the man they seek
15 - Eustace's two sons meet and recognise each other
23 - The emissaries telling Eustace's neighbours about his former exploits
26 - A recruiting officer selects one of Eustace's sons for millitary service
22 - Without recognising them, Eustace receives his sons as new recruits
25 - Eustace's wife leaves her inn to meet her long-lost husband
24 - Eustace is finally reunited with his wife and children

Act 4) Martyrdom:
27 - The new Emperor gives thanks to his idols for Eustace's victory
28 - Eustace refuses to join the Emperor in worshipping his idols
29/32 - The Emperor orders Eustace's execution
