Panel 02 - Procession; a nobleman and his retinue (?)
Description:
The meaning of this and the subsequent panel is unclear. The two panels appear to be a pair and represent some kind of procession involving the nobility (or possibly pilgrims - the rider with the yellow hood has a pilgrim's flask slung over his shoulder), commoners and the clergy. Given the context, this may be some annual celebration as part of the viticultural calendar (of which there were many in Chartres) but this is just speculation.
