Panel 07-08 - The Betrayal and Arrest of Christ
Poorly preserved. At first sight the halo of the figure on the left appears cruciform (suggesting that this is Christ and that we are therefore looking at two distinct scenes). Closer inspection however reveals that this is just the unfortunate result of re-leading. In fact this nimbed figure is Peter, who is busy cutting off Malchus' ear - look carefully at the head lower left and you can see Peter's square bladed knife pressed against the right ear. In the right hand panel, Judas leans forward to kiss Christ's cheek and the soldiers rush to sieze him.
